What-Books-I-have-Read-in-2017

As a mom I get very little reading time, but I love to read! I joined up with Goodreads 2016 reading challenge to help me keep track of what I have read and to also give me some ideas about what I might want to read next! My goal is 200 books in 2017!

Here is what I have read so far:

A tale of faith, redemption, and timeless love.

The mystery surrounding Celia’s home in Savannah threatens her family reputation . . . and her very life.

Book #3: Mr. Darcy Broke My Heart

Second favorite so far this year!

Review:

Claire Prescott is a sensible woman who believes in facts and figures, not fairy tales. Book #4: Jane Austen Ruined My Life

Review:

English professor Emma Douglas has always done everything just the way her minister father told her she should-a respectable marriage, a teaching job at a good college, and plans for the requisite two children. Life was prodigiously good, as her favorite author Jane Austen might say, until the day Emma finds her husband in bed with another woman……..

Book #5: The Wedding List (Love In Store #1)

You never forget your first love…

Review:

With her eye for design and her cut-glass accent, no-one would guess Beth Forrest’s impoverished background. It’s all throw pillows, china patterns, and upper class brides as she manages the Wedding Registry at Pettett & Mayfield, the stately maiden aunt of London department stores.

It’s not quite her dream job, but each bride she helps to select beautiful and oh-so-expensive items for their gift list brings her one step closer to buying a little home of her own, and financing the education she longs for. Now her first love is back, determined to make her his partner for life, not just the evening.

But unless Beth can let go of the mistaken beliefs that separated them in the past, and appreciate the depth and breadth of God’s love for us all, her only gift from the wedding will be another heartbreak. …….

Book #6: Welcome to Last Chance (Volume #1)

Great Read! Can’t wait to continue the series!

Review:

The red warning light on her car dashboard drove Lainie Davis to seek help in the tiny town of Last Chance, New Mexico. But as she encounters the people who make Last Chance their home, it’s her heart that is flashing bright red warning lights. These people are entirely too nice, too accommodating, and too interested in her personal life for Lainie’s comfort–especially since she’s on the run and hoping to slip away unnoticed.

Yet in spite of herself, Lainie finds that she is increasingly drawn in to the dramas of small town life. An old church lady who always has room for a stranger. A handsome bartender with a secret life. A single mom running her diner and worrying over her teenage son. Could Lainie actually make a life in this little hick town? Or will the past catch up to her even here in the middle of nowhere ………
